History

Nature’s Way Farms was founded by Murray Crawford in 1979 in Faison, NC. The company’s beginnings were as a fresh produce broker selling North Carolina fruits and vegetables to regional retailers. Then in 1989, Nature’s Way decided to expand to repacking potatoes. What started with a single weigh-o-matic machine packing merely one load of potatoes a day, has expanded into a 100,000 square-foot facility packing nearly 30 loads of potatoes a day and employing over 90 people. Nature’s Way Farms packs all varieties of potatoes, including sweet potatoes — along with cabbage, onions, and turnip roots.
